Multi-year contract enables Reno and Sparks justice courts to share
criminal justice information
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today reported that the neighboring
Nevada townships of Reno and Sparks will jointly implement Tyler's Odyssey®
Case Manager software in their respective justice courts to enhance
services to the legal community and the general public while creating
cost-saving efficiencies for the courts.
The multi-year, $1.4 million contract gives Reno and Sparks unified
access to Odyssey applications such as criminal, civil and traffic case
management, document management, public access, Financial Manager and SessionWorks
for Clerks. The contract includes software licensing, maintenance and
professional services fees.
The selection of Tyler's Odyssey
product suite culminated a lengthy search by the Reno and Sparks
justice courts to replace their existing case management systems with
one that uses the latest technologies and that will improve court
efficiencies. After defining and documenting their business and system
needs, the Reno and Sparks justice courts agreed to combine resources,
and selected Tyler from among multiple vendors.
The courts' objectives for a shared case management system included:
-
Increasing internal efficiencies by eliminating redundant and manual
process and move toward a paperless court system.
-
Improve access to case information within their court systems as well
as with stakeholder agencies.
-
Having the capability to provide detailed management reports on court
performance and caseload statistics.
-
Enhancing convenience for court users such as the legal community and
the general public.
A key part of the courts' decision-making process was speaking with
current Odyssey users. One visit was to Clark County where staff and
court administrators could directly observe Odyssey's performance in the
Las Vegas justice court.
"Tyler Technologies is very pleased to begin building a successful,
long-term relationship with the Reno and Sparks justice courts, and we
look forward to helping them achieve their court-wide efficiency
objectives," said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler's Courts & Justice
Division. "We believe that our experience working with other Nevada
courts and our long track record of delivering results to our customers
gave Reno and Sparks even more confidence in selecting Tyler and our
Odyssey product suite."
