Second Ohio School District to Purchase Tyler's Munis® Solution

DALLAS – January 13, 2011 – Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today it has reached an agreement with Columbus City Schools in Ohio to provide its Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, part of Tyler's complete school solution. Columbus City Schools, Ohio's largest school district with more than 50,000 students, has invested in an extensive range of Tyler's Munis financial, human capital management and document management applications. In addition to software licenses, the agreement includes related professional services, maintenance and support.

"The vision for Columbus City Schools is to re-engineer our business processes and adopt best practices for efficiency gains to maximize our investment in Tyler's Munis solution," said Rod Houpe, chief information officer at Columbus City Schools. "We know we can reach our goals with Tyler because of their project management and professional services experience in the K-12 market. Tyler's product and domain expertise will result in an integrated and successful deployment of Munis, which will positively impact our district, community, employees and students."

Columbus City Schools signed a five-year software as a service (SaaS) contract valued at approximately $6 million for Tyler's Munis solution, the largest SaaS deal to date for Munis. This allows the district to simplify its technology investment and personnel costs as Tyler will host and administer Munis from its data center in Falmouth, Maine. The district also invested in Tyler's change management services to engineer best business practices and manage the implementation of new processes and applications across the district.

"Columbus City Schools has done three things that add significant value to their operations," said Richard E. Peterson Jr., president of Tyler's ERP & School Division. "First, they have selected a product that is perpetually upgraded with new technology while maintaining proven core business logic, and Tyler has demonstrated that this model provides clients with industry-leading products for the long haul. Second, they have invested in a SaaS model, which means that Tyler maintains the servers and software necessary to host the applications while also providing disaster recovery services. And finally, they have invested in change management services that help ensure a successful implementation that is on time, on budget and supported at every level of their organization. We are delighted Columbus City Schools selected Tyler, and we look forward to a long relationship with them."
