iasWorld® Online delivers efficiencies,
disaster recovery and frees-up county IT staff for other projects
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that Loudoun
County, Va., has chosen Tyler's iasWorld® Online solution to
enhance their computer-assisted
mass appraisal (CAMA) capabilities and provide residents with easier
access to accurate real estate valuation and tax data. The agreement is
for four years.
iasWorld
Online is an integrated appraisal and tax solution that houses all
actions and information in a central location, bridging the gap between
information silos and improving efficiency in operations. Using Tyler's
software, Loudoun County can now provide more accurate information to
its taxpayers in a ready and efficient manner.
Implemented on a software as a service (SaaS) platform, iasWorld Online
will be hosted in one of Tyler's wholly owned data centers; disaster
recovery services include geographic redundancy via backup servers
in another Tyler data center. In addition to operational benefits,
Loudoun expects to realize cost-savings because the SaaS model allows
the county to avoid purchasing new hardware, installing the software or
managing the county's expansive appraisal and tax database.
"Our decision to implement this mission-critical system with Tyler's
software as a service model is an important step for the county," said
Gene Troxell, Loudoun County's director of information technology.
"Without the burden of purchasing, installing and maintaining the
hardware and software to support the system, our IT staff is able to
turn their attention to other important initiatives."
Loudoun is one of Virginia's largest counties with more than 300,000
residents. The task of managing vast amounts of data, along with the
changes in market values, makes it essential for Loudoun to have a
flexible system that can handle frequent changes while consistently
delivering accurate information.
As part of the iasWorld Online implementation, Loudoun will receive
updates to their website that allow taxpayers to have on-demand access
to information, pay taxes and interact with one another online.
Loudoun's neighbor, Fairfax County, has more than 1 million residents
and is a long-time client of Tyler Technologies. Fairfax has used
Tyler's appraisal and tax solutions, including iasWorld since 2002.
Loudoun factored Fairfax's positive experiences with Tyler into its
decision to choose iasWorld Online.
"Loudoun County is committed to delivering modern appraisal technology
and services to their citizens while creating efficiencies, cost savings
and operational improvements for the county itself," said Andrew D.
Teed, president of Tyler's Appraisal & Tax Division. "Tyler looks
forward to building a long-lasting relationship with Loudoun County."
