St. Lawrence County, New York, has licensed the Munis®enterprise
resource planning (ERP) solution from Tyler Technologies, Inc.
(NYSE: TYL) because Munis supports accurate budgeting, provides the
tools for handling increased workloads, and because there are no
additional licensing costs for software upgrades under Tyler's evergreen
philosophy.
"Like other counties, the economy has forced us to reduce staff, but
there's no less work to be done, so we needed the right tools to help
our staff do their jobs well without added strain, and Munis was the
best solution," said St. Lawrence County Treasurer Kevin Felt. "We
talked with other New York counties that have been with Munis a long
time, which reassured us that Tyler has the staying power we wanted.
Tyler's evergreen approach means you get upgrades without more costs or
the mountains of work that comes with finding and integrating a new
system. We chose Tyler because we don't want to go through another ERP
search 10 years from now."
St. Lawrence County chose Munis
to replace an aging financial system whose older technology didn't offer
a user-friendly environment. In addition to Munis' ease of use, the
county valued its reporting capabilities, enabling them to pull
real-time data from Tyler's ERP solution.
The contract includes software licenses, related professional services,
maintenance and support. St. Lawrence County selected multiple Munis
applications, including financial management, human capital management,
reporting services and document management.
"Munis has a long and productive history in New York, and we recently
strengthened that presence by adding new relationships with several
counties including St. Lawrence County," said Richard E. Peterson Jr.,
president of Tyler's ERP & School Division. "We believe that Munis is
the deepest and most flexible ERP solution available, and combining that
with our evergreen philosophy makes Tyler the best partner for counties
that want a long-term and affordable ERP solution from a company with
the strength to be around for the long haul."
Located in upstate New York, St. Lawrence County covers approximately
2,800 square miles, making it the largest county in the state of New
York. About 112,000 residents live in the county, which is a blend of
farms, forests and small towns.
