Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that its Odyssey®
court case management system has been chosen in a competitive
procurement as the single, integrated software for managing court
information and operations within the San Luis Obispo Superior Court.
In its search for a court case management system, the San Luis Obispo
Superior Court wanted a single and workable solution for all case types,
with integrated document management, public access, and eFiling
capabilities that provide instant access to case documents while
providing a greater level of service to citizens.
The San Luis Obispo Superior Court's goal was to create a model that
other California courts could leverage to meet their case management
needs with a system that streamlines the back office and is available
for use by judges on the bench.
"San Luis Obispo has taken a leadership role among California Superior
Courts, and we look forward to partnering with the court to achieve its
business objectives and help improve the delivery of justice in San Luis
Obispo County," said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler's Courts & Justice
Division. "Tyler will bring our experience working with hundreds of
courts around the country to bear for California and San Luis Obispo,
and we are committed to investing in our California operations to ensure
that Tyler is the best long-term partner for courts throughout the
Golden State."
"The California judicial branch has faced unprecedented budget cuts
during the past three years resulting in reduced hours, court closures,
and increasing case backlogs. While technology alone will not solve the
budget crisis within California courts, it does provide a critical
toolset to enable California courts to maintain and improve operations,"
said Kyle Snowdon, national account manager for Tyler's Courts & Justice
Division. "Through the implementation of automated solutions such as
Odyssey, Tyler has helped courts around the country automate tasks,
reduce manual steps, and provide a self-service judicial environment
where business can be conducted online not in line."
Tyler's Odyssey system has been adopted by more than 450 courts in 17
states, including eight statewide implementations, serving a total of 50
million citizens.
