Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced it has launched
Munis® Field Inspector for Windows 8 and Windows RT,
Microsoft's highly anticipated new version of its Windows operating
system.
Tyler's Munis
Field Inspector application is designed to provide permit and code
enforcement field crews with convenient Windows phone or tablet access
over a cellular or Wi-Fi connection in order to perform their jobs more
efficiently.
"We feel confident that the new design, mobile connectivity, great
hardware and solid foundation of Windows 8 will provide a positive
experience for clients using Munis Field Inspector," said Richard E.
Peterson Jr., president of Tyler's ERP & School Division. "Tyler
Technologies is excited to launch Munis Field Inspector for Windows 8
and Windows RT."
Munis Field Inspector will automatically access the day's schedule and
necessary information for the inspector to perform inspections, capture
comments and attach photos from anywhere in the field. Results are
uploaded to Tyler's Munis enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
automatically when the mobile device has a strong cellular or wireless
signal.
"Microsoft app developers have always provided rich software experiences
and value for our shared customers," said John Richards, Windows
Business Development Senior Director. "Windows 8 offers a no-compromise
experience across PCs, laptops and tablets, enabling our app developers
to deliver innovative software."
Munis Field Inspector leverages Windows 8 and Windows RT features
including search, share, snap, semantic zoom, notifications, live tiles,
and the design principles of the Windows 8 user interface. Munis Field
Inspector can be used with Tyler's Munis enterprise resource planning
