Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with
Fairfield County, Ohio, to provide real property appraisal services for
the county's 2013 general reassessment, per its sexennial reappraisal
cycle. The services, valued at approximately $1 million, include
establishing property values for all real property and land parcels.
Fairfield County also uses Tyler's Munis
enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and will soon be using
Tyler's iasWorld
software as a service (SaaS) tax software.
Fairfield County has a population of approximately 146,000 and more than
70,000 parcels. State law requires Ohio counties to revalue parcels
every six years. The reappraisal project will utilize Tyler's CLT
Appraisal Services, based in Ohio, and Tyler Verify, a complete
property data verification service that meets International Association
of Assessing Officers (IAAO) standards. With Tyler Verify, Fairfield
County will have detailed, high-resolution street-level images for
improved data and image verification.
"Tyler's track record of conducting successful reappraisals in Ohio,
including a past reappraisal of Fairfield County in the 1980s, gave me
confidence in Tyler's ability to get the job done in a timely and
professional manner," said Jon A. Slater Jr., Fairfield County's
auditor. "Further, it was clear that Tyler's understanding of our data
was excellent and the fact that they went to the field to test the data
impressed me. From a value added standpoint, using Tyler for the 2013
general reassessment will also provide Fairfield County the opportunity
to learn from its staff how to best utilize Tyler's iasWorld software on
a day-to-day basis."
"Tyler has a long history of serving Ohio counties with a complete
solution for reappraisal projects and we're happy that Fairfield County
has expanded its partnership with Tyler and again chosen us for its
appraisal service needs," said David J. Johnson, president of Tyler's
CLT Appraisal Services. "With more than 70 years of appraisal
experience, Tyler is known for reliably completing projects on time and
on budget. We look forward to our continuing relationship with Fairfield
County."
