Tyler Technologies Signs Agreement to Deliver Integrated ERP and Court Solution to Texas Municipality

Missouri City, Texas, signs 7-year SaaS agreement for Tyler's Munis® ERP and Incode® court systems

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with Missouri City, Texas, to deliver its Munis®enterprise resource planning (ERP) and Incode®municipal court solutions under a software as a service (SaaS) agreement that enables the city to access current technology for a low upfront investment.

Missouri City has a population of approximately 64,000 and is southwest of Houston. During their search for new financial and court systems, city officials discovered that they could source both systems through Tyler rather than buying disparate applications from different vendors.

The integrated solution was even more attractive to the city because the well-established Munis and Incode applications could be delivered as SaaS and hosted in Tyler's private cloud - data centers maintained by Tyler exclusively for Tyler clients. The SaaS model enables Missouri City to avoid the overhead of investing capital in hardware such as servers, while also shifting the expense and responsibility of securing data, updating servers and managing the applications to Tyler instead of the city's IT staff.

Missouri City's agreement with Tyler also includes disaster recovery, which creates another layer of protection for the city's data. And, because Tyler's applications are browser-based, city officials can access Munis and Incode from any location that has an Internet connection.

The seven-year SaaS agreement, which includes licensing, related professional services and maintenance fees, is valued at approximately $1.8 million. As part of the agreement, Missouri City will use Tyler's Web Services designed to help the city establish an online presence for easier staff and citizen access.

"By relying on Tyler's private cloud to deliver and maintain Munis and Incode, Missouri City not only gets a very predictable cost model for budgeting purposes, but they have the flexibility to shift internal IT staff to other mission-critical projects," said Richard E. Peterson Jr., president of Tyler's ERP & School Division. "By partnering with Tyler and leveraging the SaaS model, Missouri City has made a value-creating decision for the government and the citizens it serves."
