Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that the city of
Boulder, Colo., has chosen Tyler's Munis®enterprise
resource planning (ERP) solution to replace its 20-year-old public
administration system, made up of disparate software systems. With its
integrated Munis solution, Tyler gives the city the functionality it
needs to deliver government services and conduct activities in the way
it wants, while helping to ensure the city's future financial
sustainability.
As part of its Transform Boulder Business Initiative (TBBI) to improve
business processes, Boulder city officials searched for an integrated,
organization-wide ERP solution that could replace the current financial,
human resources, payroll processing and asset management applications.
One of the factors in the city's decision was Tyler's sole focus on
products that serve the public sector.
Munis
was selected after a competitive review. In addition to an integrated
solution, the city of Boulder wanted a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)
solution like Munis that would require very little, if any,
customization. Officials also made the decision based on Tyler's
successful track record, financial strength and ability to be a
long-term partner for the city. As a user-friendly system that offers
numerous features and functionality, including Tyler Content Manager,
Munis will help the city of Boulder meet its efficiency and operational
goals.
"The city of Boulder is unique in many ways, and city leadership clearly
stated its goals of rejuvenating business practices and modernizing its
technological approach to better serve its community," said Richard E.
Peterson Jr., president of Tyler's ERP & School Division. "Throughout
the negotiation process, we communicated to the city that we were
committed to being its partner for the long-term. We believe that this
commitment, combined with Tyler's public sector expertise and the
functionality of Munis, will help Boulder better and more efficiently
leverage its technology resources."
The city of Boulder, which is located about 35 miles northwest of
Denver, serves approximately 100,000 residents with about 1,200
employees and an operating budget of about $240 million.
