Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a contract with the city
of Pasadena, Calif., for Tyler's Munis® enterprise resource
planning (ERP)
solution to fully integrate the city's finance, human resources and
payroll applications. The agreement includes related professional
services, training and support.
The city chose Munis
in large part due to its proven technology platform, success with other
clients, and how well Munis meets the city's functional requirements. In
addition, the city was attracted by Tyler's evergreen philosophy, which
includes all future Munis updates as part of annual maintenance.
Munis was reviewed as part of the city's recently completed Information
Technology Strategic Plan, which focused on an IT investment strategy to
replace aging systems with modern technology solutions that help
increase and enhance public access to information and services. As a
fully integrated system, Munis addressed all of the city's functional
needs while also being flexible enough to fit within Pasadena's current
systems environment.
"Tyler's Munis enables the city to fully integrate finance, human
resources, budget and payroll functions to provide employees with
enterprise-wide reporting and decision support through a single data
repository," said Phillip Leclair, Pasadena's chief information officer.
"With Tyler's integrated system the city can streamline and eliminate
inefficient, redundant and manual processes that increase the potential
of errors and inaccurate information."
"We look forward to implementing Munis to enable our city staff to
become more efficient and responsive to the needs of our constituents,"
said Andrew Green, Pasadena's director of finance. "The city will
benefit not only from the integration between the Tyler products, but
also by following Tyler's implementation methodologies that will align
our support processes to industry best practices."
As part of its selection process, the city of Pasadena also weighed
vendors' longevity and financial stability.
"We were pleased to demonstrate Munis' strong functional fit for the
city of Pasadena, as well as the fact that Tyler has the business model
and financial strength to be a solid long-term partner for Pasadena,"
said Chris Hepburn, senior vice president of Tyler's ERP & School
Division. "Tyler's financial strength fuels our evergreen philosophy,
which creates a meaningful long-term return on investment for our
clients. We also believe that the strong relationships Tyler has with
its existing clients gives the city of Pasadena further assurance that
implementing Munis is the best investment of taxpayer dollars."
