Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a SaaS contract with Los
Alamos County, New Mexico, for Tyler's EnerGov®
planning, permitting and licensing solution to replace the county's
legacy permitting solution. Los Alamos County chose EnerGov as part of
its efficiency plans for the community and economic development
department, which is responsible for the county's planning and zoning,
inspections and affordable housing programs. The three-year SaaS
agreement includes related professionals services, training and support.
Los Alamos County chose to search for a new solution due to its legacy
permitting application no longer being supported by the provider. The
county was drawn to EnerGov because the platform automates and centrally
connects critical processes, including regulatory management, land use
planning, code enforcement, licensing and citizen requests. In addition,
because EnerGov is commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, it doesn't
require extensive customization.
EnerGov will help the county further streamline workflow processes,
improve communication, and increase productivity for office and mobile
workers alike. And EnerGov mobile applications will give employees
real-time access in the field.
Like most of Tyler's solutions, EnerGov can be hosted at the client site
or delivered via SaaS, which is a popular model because it helps reduce
upfront costs while eliminating costs associated with hardware
maintenance and upgrades. A cloud-based solution also frees county IT
personnel to address other demands and provides an automatic disaster
recovery solution.
Los Alamos County has had a relationship with Tyler since 2011 when the
county began using Tyler's Eagle product suite for property appraisal
and assessment. Los Alamos County, located in the mountains of northern
New Mexico, is well known for its scientific research-and-development
facilities, including the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The county has
approximately 18,000 residents.
