Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the
city of Newport Beach, California, for Tyler's Munis®
enterprise resource planning (ERP)
solution. The agreement includes software licenses, related professional
services, maintenance and support.
Newport Beach is replacing its legacy financial system with Munis
so employees can benefit from its modern functionalities, including
workflows and customizable dashboards, while also engaging Tyler's
consulting services to help the city launch new business processes in
conjunction with the Munis implementation.
In addition to Munis' functionality, Newport Beach was attracted by
Tyler's evergreen philosophy; like all Tyler clients, Newport Beach will
receive future Munis updates as part of its annual maintenance fees.
"Munis is a solid ERP solution with all the functionality we wanted, but
it's also a user-friendly system that will help us further enhance
services, including enabling quicker response times to citizen issues by
providing them with direct online access to the city via Munis," said
Newport Beach City Manager David Kiff. "Beyond the technical aspects,
Newport Beach first and foremost wanted a technology partner that would
be there for the long haul and who already had a strong California
client base - we found all of that with Tyler."
Newport Beach expects to have about 150 concurrent users of Munis and
its multiple core applications, including financial management and human
capital management. The city also will leverage Munis' self-service
functionality for citizens and vendors.
"It was clear throughout the selection process that Newport Beach is
highly citizen-centric, with the commitment to serving the community
reaching every corner of city hall," said Chris Hepburn, senior vice
president of Tyler's ERP & School Division. "As a very progressive city,
Newport Beach continually seeks to improve itself, which makes Munis the
perfect ERP system for them because it's flexible and will continue to
evolve and be updated at no additional cost to the taxpayers of Newport
Beach."
