Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that the Superior
Court of California, County of Butte, has signed a five-year software as
a service (SaaS) agreement for Tyler's Odyssey®
court case management software solution to maximize court resources and
increase public access to information.
The court will implement e-filing and multiple Odyssey applications for
all case types: civil, criminal, traffic, juvenile, family and probate.
The court also selected Odyssey SessionWorks® Judge Edition, which
presents judges with digital data on the bench via touch-screen
technology, and Odyssey ePayment Manager to securely process and manage
over-the-counter and online payments.
"Butte Superior Court is pleased to move forward with Tyler to obtain
their Odyssey case management system; the contemporary and sophisticated
features of this case management solution will allow our court to
further realize our goal of enhanced access to justice for the community
we serve," said Butte Superior Court Executive Officer Kimberly Flener.
"In particular, our court is enthusiastic about Odyssey's e-filing and
document management capabilities, which will provide the public with
expeditious access to our services into the future. We also welcome
Odyssey's expected gains in efficiency and effectiveness that will allow
us to continue to maximize our limited resources."
The Butte Superior Court used the Master Services Agreement (MSA) that
gives California's 58 superior courts the ability to purchase Tyler's
Odyssey integrated court case management system at pre-negotiated terms,
conditions and pricing outlined in the MSA. The MSA was developed by a
group of IT leaders and court managers within the California judicial
system as a way for the state's superior courts to efficiently purchase
a case management system. To date, 20 California superior courts have
announced that they have chosen Tyler's Odyssey court management
solution.
"Tyler's cloud-based solutions enable clients like Butte Superior Court
to deliver more services to their constituents while increasing
efficiencies without a large up-front investment or additional IT
resources," said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler's Courts & Justice
Division. "We look forward to working with the court to help them
achieve their goals."
Butte Superior Court processes an average of 42,000 filings per year and
has more than 110 employees. Butte County, with a population of 220,000,
is located in California's Central Valley, about 70 miles north of
Sacramento.
In total, Odyssey serves more than 100 million residents, a third of the
U.S. population, in more than 600 counties across 21 states. Odyssey has
been successfully deployed statewide in Indiana, Minnesota, New
Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota and South Dakota; statewide
implementations in Idaho, Maryland, Oregon, Rhode Island and Washington
are currently underway.
