Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the
Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) for Tyler's Orion
appraisal and tax software solution. The contract includes licensing for
the software's computer-assisted mass appraisal (CAMA) functions,
related professional services and support.
Orion is a browser-based, scalable solution employing a SQL database
that leverages off-the-shelf Microsoft® operating systems and
database management software. The software delivers powerful
scalability, extensive availability and flexible deployment options for
assessment administration, CAMA and tax billing and collections
functions.
The Texas Comptroller's office was originally created by the Texas
provisional government in 1835. Susan Combs is the current comptroller
and acts as the chief steward of the state's finances, acting as tax
collector, chief accountant, chief revenue estimator and chief treasurer.
