Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with Cobb
County, Georgia, to provide commercial privatization of the county's
commercial/industrial tax division using Tyler's CLT
Appraisal Services™.
Through this commercial privatization project, CLT Appraisal Services
will work under the direction of the Cobb County director/chief
appraiser to handle the day-to-day activities of commercial/industrial
property valuation. Services include data collection, site reviews,
defending values at all appeal levels, customer service and other
associated responsibilities for the annual assessment and tax cycle of
commercial/industrial properties in compliance with the adopted
procedures of the Cobb County Board of Tax Assessors and Georgia law.
Cobb County has been a CLT Appraisal Services client since 1998. Tyler's
CLT Appraisal Services staff will conduct a complete review and
valuation of the county's more than 13,700 commercial/industrial
properties for ad valorem tax purposes for the 2017 tax year. Staff will
then perform ongoing regular maintenance, review and mass appraisal of
all commercial/industrial properties in the county for ad valorem
purposes. The privatization project is scheduled to end in 2020.
The county also uses Tyler's iasWorld®
property appraisal and tax administration software to manage the
county's computer-assisted mass appraisal and tax billing and collection
needs. Additionally, the county implemented iasWorld Public Access™
to provide taxpayers with an online gateway to property and tax data.
