Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with
Franklin County, Ohio, for Tyler's CLT
Appraisal Services™ to conduct multiple appraisal and reappraisal
projects. The agreement, valued at $12.3 million, includes services for
the county's 2017 sexennial reappraisal and new construction appraisals
for 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Franklin County selected Tyler's CLT Appraisal Services after a
competitive review process. The county currently uses Tyler's iasWorld®
Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) software solution and has
previously used Tyler
Verify™ Street-Level Imaging services for the collection and
verification of property in the county.
"Franklin County taxpayers can feel confident that our relationship with
Tyler Technologies will allow for an extremely accurate appraisal of
their home and business properties within the county," said Franklin
County Auditor Clarence Mingo. "Tyler's use of innovative and
cost-efficient technology will allow us to offer Franklin County
residents a wide array of dynamic services that will continue to be
beneficial to our county's bottom line."
CLT Appraisal Services staff will use tablet devices to verify and
review data while working in the field during Franklin County's
appraisal services projects. The use of this mobile technology will help
eliminate printing of documents and increase efficiencies by giving
staff the ability to access and update data in iasWorld directly while
standing on the property. Additionally, workflow functionality will
eliminate many manual steps used to prepare documents, maps and property
records in a traditionally paper-laden process.
Tyler's CLT Appraisal Services - the country's only national mass
appraisal services company - has appraised more than 30 million parcels
across 46 states.
"Franklin County is a technologically progressive county and they
recognized that Tyler is the first in this industry to use integrated
technology and services to make everyday appraisal tasks easier," said
David J. Johnson, president of Tyler's CLT Appraisal Services. "The
county's continued investment in Tyler's appraisal and tax solutions
speaks to the professionalism and expertise of our staff, and the value
provided by our products and services."
Ohio state law mandates that property values be updated every three
years. Franklin County has almost 450,000 parcels and is the state's
second-most populous county with 1.2 million residents.
