Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced that the Idaho
Courts have begun the implementation of iCourt E-File for the electronic
filing of court documents. iCourt E-File, powered by Tyler's Odyssey
File & Serve™ solution, will provide convenience and cost
savings to Idaho residents and attorneys as they will be able to file
court documents electronically at any time, from anywhere.
"The Idaho Judiciary has reached a pivotal moment in our transition to
electronic court records with the implementation of iCourt E-File,
allowing documents to be digitally filed, served, distributed and
delivered at any time and any place," said Interim Administrative
Director of the Courts Justice Linda Copple Trout. "This transition
further supports the efficiencies gained by moving to an electronic
court record by creating time savings for attorneys, clerks and judges."
In 2013, the state chose multiple Odyssey
applications to help meet its operational goals, including court case
management, content management, financial management, jury management,
public access, and e-filing. Odyssey SessionWorks® Judge and
Clerk editions were also selected to present data digitally to clerks
and judges on the bench via touch-screen technology. Twin Falls County
was the first county to implement Odyssey and went live on iCourt E-File
in October.
Odyssey will be implemented in a phased approach that will take more
than two years. All Idaho counties are expected to be live on Odyssey by
2018, with mandatory e-filing following 180 days after the
implementation of iCourt E-File. In addition to e-filing, Idaho Courts
have also committed to using Odyssey Guide & File™ to
simplify the process for self-represented litigants to access justice.
"Nationally, electronic filing and the move to digitized court documents
have allowed courts to improve service to their constituents while also
increasing efficiencies," said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler's Courts
& Justice Division. "Idaho Courts are forward-thinking with their
investment in enterprisewide software to move the state toward an
electronic-enabled court system, and we look forward to helping them
achieve their goals for e-filing."
The state of Idaho has 44 counties and a population of approximately 1.6
million. More than 1,700 cases are filed daily in the state. Nationally,
Tyler's e-filing platform has 300,000 registered users and processes
more than 6 million transactions annually.
Odyssey serves more than 100 million residents, a third of the U.S.
population, in more than 600 counties across 22 states. With more than
550 full-time employees dedicated to courts and justice solutions, Tyler
can manage dozens of Odyssey client implementations concurrently. In
2014, Tyler staff converted 33 million cases, 64 million parties and
almost $4 billion in payments for clients moving to Odyssey from other
systems.
