Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a seven-year
software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with Williamsburg-James City
County (WJCC) Public Schools in Williamsburg, Virginia, for Tyler's Munis®
enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The agreement includes
hosting services, related professional services, maintenance and
support. The division utilized the existing National Joint Powers
Alliance (NJPA) contract in procuring Munis.
WJCC wanted to replace its legacy financial and human resource
management systems with an integrated financial information system that
could help the division better manage budget, procurement, disbursement,
fixed assets, general ledger and payroll. Additionally, the schools
needed a solution that could manage all human resources functions, from
initial application through retirement.
Tyler's integrated solutions will help the division streamline its
workflow while enabling better communication across multiple departments
by delivering more automated and modern processes. By choosing to have
Munis delivered via the SaaS model, WJCC can redirect some of its IT
staff time to other projects. SaaS also provides built-in redundancies
to prevent data loss and downtime.
The Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools division serves the
city of Williamsburg and neighboring James City County, Virginia. With
approximately 11,300 students, the division includes three high schools,
three middle schools, nine elementary schools, an operations center and
school board office.
