Ohio Court of Claims Selects Odyssey Software Suite from Tyler Technologies

Tyler establishes presence in Ohio to assist with electronic filing of all civil matters

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today a software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with the Ohio Court of Claims for Tyler's Odyssey Case Manager, Odyssey File & Serve and Guide & File solutions. This agreement represents Tyler's first Odyssey client in the state of Ohio.

The Ohio Court of Claims has exclusive jurisdiction over all civil claims for money damages brought against all state departments, boards, offices, commissioners, agencies, institutions, and state colleges and universities. The court is located in Columbus, and civil case types range from contract disputes to property damage to personal injury. The Ohio Court of Claims also hears appeals from Attorney General decisions regarding claims filed under the Victims of Crime Compensation Program.

Due to recent state legislation giving the court jurisdiction over controversies regarding public records requests, the number of cases is expected to increase. In order to handle the anticipated increase, the Ohio Court of Claims turned to Tyler to replace a legacy in-house system and to streamline their case filing processes.

"We were concerned about being equipped to provide additional services to Ohio citizens through our singular court location in Columbus, given the expected increase in cases," said Mark Reed, Clerk of the Ohio Court of Claims. "Through this agreement, we will be able to simplify our filing processes and increase access to justice for our citizens.

The court will use Odyssey to support electronic signatures and electronic notifications, and will also allow citizens to easily file cases online. Once e-filing has been established, Tyler will implement Odyssey Case Manager for the court, integrating both software solutions and tracking all aspects of the court, from basic functions to advanced case management abilities.

"We're very pleased to extend our justice software expertise into Ohio with the Ohio Court of Claims," said Jeff Puckett, president of Tyler's Courts & Justice Division. "Our software is uniquely positioned to help the court seamlessly transition information and handle the increase in filings in the near future."
