Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:TYL) welcomed more than 3,000 public
sector leaders to its largest-ever client conference earlier this month,
where Tyler clients learned about product functionality, exchanged ideas
with peers and viewed highlights of future software developments.
Connect, the company's annual educational gathering for users, was held
this year in Phoenix, and hosted more than 3,000 public sector clients
from 49 states and two Canadian provinces. Overall, attendees
represented 1,354 unique cities, counties, courts and other
jurisdictions of all sizes, reflecting not only Tyler's broad customer
base, but the public sector market as a whole.
"The annual Connect event is a significant part of our relationship with
clients, and it's the ideal platform for clients to grow in their
understanding and full utilization of their Tyler products," said John
S. Marr Jr., Tyler's president and CEO. "Connect allows us to underscore
Tyler's commitment to continued, sustainable investments in technology
to ensure our clients have current solutions to meet their needs.
Whether it means deepening the integration of our products or hiring
another 140 software developers like we will this year, our goal is
continuous improvement for ourselves and for every essential area of the
public sector."
In addition to an opening address from Marr, attendees to the event's
opening keynote speech were treated to a presentation from renowned
technology futurist Thomas Koulopoulos, founder of the Delphi Group, who
for 25 years has been providing thought leadership to global
organizations on the intersection of business and technology.
Koulopoulos was named one of the industry's most influential information
management consultants by InformationWeek magazine, and, as a recognized
author on the subject, he frequently appears in national and
international print and broadcast media.
During his presentation at Connect, Koulopoulos explained how technology
has created "hyper-connected behavior" that results in the
"digital-citizen" placing new demands on the public sector. Koulopoulos
stressed that technology is no longer just a tool, but rather the fiber
of how people interact, including with their governments, and that
citizens will increasingly expect personalized technology from the
public sector. He noted that collaboration between partners like Tyler
and its public sector clients will ultimately build digital ecosystems
with integrated technology that will help governments meet citizen needs
in better, more efficient and innovative ways.
The keynote presentations were followed by three days of more than 700
training sessions across multiple educational tracks. Sessions included
presentations and discussions on industry topics, such as Affordable
Care Act reporting, transparency, public access, cloud solutions, and
mobile applications. Product tracks included classes for CLT Appraisal
Services™, Eagle™, Eden™, EnerGov™,
iasWorld®, Incode®, Infinite Visions®,
Munis®, Odyssey®, Orion™, Tyler Public
Safety™, Tyler SIS™, student transportation
solutions and other Tyler products.
Connect 2017 is scheduled for May 7-10, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas.
