The StateScoop 50 awards honor the top innovators, innovative
initiatives, and up-and-coming leaders in state and local government.
Winners were recognized during the National Association of State Chief
Information Officers midyear conference on April 22 in Baltimore.
Among this year's recipients, NIC Chief Executive Officer and Chairman
of the Board Harry Herington was recognized with an Industry Leadership
award for being a pioneer driving change in government IT with unique
solutions. As a founder of NIC, Mr. Herington has led the Company
through many digital government firsts. He always encourages employees
to be innovative, to put citizens and businesses first and to improve
government interactions.
