Realizing Connected Communities in Clermont County, OH

Since introducing the vision for Connected Communities in 2017, Tyler's teams have been working hard to make this vision a reality. Tyler's latest success story features Clermont County, Ohio, a county of more than 209,000 residents and 1,100 employees located east of Cincinnati. While the county has been a Tyler client since 1995, it has added products over time with the goal of integrating solutions to improve connectivity, efficiency, transparency, and engagement.

Tyler has been key in moving the county away from paper processes as well as simplifying access to data collection and analysis. Using Tyler applications, the county has streamlined HR operations, invoice approvals, and gathering and analyzing real estate data. But, perhaps the most significant improvements have been directed at the community. For example:

  • School districts can look at financial data that impacts their budgeting
  • Taxpayers can easily dig into county spending
  • Businesses can research property records
  • County staff spend less time responding to FOIA requests

Clermont County community members benefit from the ability to interact electronically with the county on their own schedule, which has helped build engagement with their local government. To learn more about Clermont County's journey to becoming a connected community, please watch our video here.

Tyler CFO Brian Miller comments on the recent acquisition of Computing System Innovations (CSI).

CSI has a proven track record as a market leader in the redaction and document processing space, specifically with its AI and automation capabilities. With electronic filing now the standard in the industry, recurring labor challenges, and ever-growing litigation from news outlets for untimely processing of court records, it was clear that there is an immediate need across our client base for the solutions CSI provides.

The acquisition provides the immediate ability for Tyler to partner with courts and offer an automated acceptance model in our core e-filing solution to directly address the key challenges courts are facing with greater speed, accuracy, and efficiency. In addition, we plan to add auto-filing capabilities to our e-filing application opening up a new potential revenue stream from the more than 3 million filers who use our solution today. Finally, we can leverage CSI's solutions to further automate document processing in the core Enterprise Justice suite providing automated docketing for court staff and increasing the value of data aggregation offerings.

Outside of the courts space, we expect to leverage AI processing and automation across our ERP suites, in the processing and management of land records documents, and potentially with our federal case management solution.

September marks Environmental Awareness Month, and Tyler wants to acknowledge the important work conducted by our Environmental Task Force (ETF). Led by internal facilities and procurement experts, the ETF focuses on energy-optimized operations, resource efficiency, and green planet initiatives. As Tyler grows, facilitating sustainable behavior remains a key opportunity across the organization.

With the goal of strengthening our analysis over time, Tyler calculates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy consumption, and our waste and water impacts. We've recently added fiscal 2022 calculations to our corporate responsibility page. New metrics were added for the 2022 GHG emission inventory reflecting continued progress toward strengthened reporting and disclosure.
